Who’d have thought it?! The weather gave me the best Birthday present this weekend, waking up yesterday to blue skies and glorious sunshine!!!
Up and out nice and early, we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the day. Peveril Castle was ours for the taking!
Meanwhile, over in Italy…
Colombian rider Miguel Rubiano produced the best performance of his career to win Stage 6 of the Giro at Porto Sant’Elpidio, as the race headed into the hills for the first time. Part of an early breakaway group, he made his bid for glory with around 45km to go. The Pink Jersey changed hands yet again,
as Adriano Malori took over as race leader.

Astana’s season has been pretty good so far this year and yesterday saw it get even better,
as Paolo Tiralongo passed Scarponi inside the final 100 metres of the steep, twisting climb up to Rocca di Cambio to win Stage 7. The Pink Jersey is becoming very twitchy this year, Ryder Hesjedal became it’s latest recipient (the first Canadian rider to ever where it)
Stage 7 Last 2.5km
Thanks to Steephill and Cyclingnews, allowing me to catch up on what I’d missed.
Roll on this afternoon, all 229km’s of it!
